Posthaste

Posthaste:

I came across this word at the reader's digest word power and I didn't know the meaning. But now I know so I decided to post the meaning posthaste. Did you get the meaning ? Well posthaste means immediately. Some of the sentence I could find are
"Get the flood warning to the media posthasteā€
"send to me posthaste"

However posthaste is an oxymoron and this is captured by this beautiful mail I came across and I reproduce that verbatim

Richard Mateosian
"The term "post" pertains to the mail system, and most people's opinion ofits speed is revealed by the popularity of the term "snail mail." Thus, posthaste becomes a one-word oxymoron in the same sense that militaryintelligence is an oxymoron. It's a joke. ...RM"

Giuliani for president

I love peeking in to future and no matter what democrats believe and try to make you believe two things are I am very sure of Hilary Clinton is not going to be the president and 2nd days of Obama are also over. The moment people discovered about his Islamic heritage its now impossible for him to win in America. People all over the world are deeply suspicious of Muslim people and especially after Ellison's desire to take oath, I am pretty sure he is not going to be reelected. I think Guliani could be the next president.

Describing Mood

Dear Sumant,

I opened a book and there was an exercise in it to describe the mood. It was written that most of the time we use only a dozen of words to describe our emotions. So I took it as a challenge and started writing the words. The words I came up with are
Great, Ecstatic, Fabulous, Wonderful, Exhilarating, Euphoric, Pretty Good, Energized, Awesome, Excited, Fantastic, Orgasmic,Glad, Superb Phew.. I could come up with only 14. So in the next whole week my resolution is to take it to 100 words and I will post those 100 words right here. Meanwhile yesterday I read about Filippo Brunelleschi and how his vision of constructing the greatest dome in the history of mankind. It was inspiring and I plan to reread it. Yesterday I was able to find time to read parts of Nahin's book and hopefully by today I will have some other exciting books, I am all pepped up. Its 10:03 in the morning and I look forward to another productive day.

White board installed and new book

Dear Sumant,

Recently I purchased Dr. Euler's fabulous formula book. It was introduced to me by my friend Robert during one of our study session at Barnes and Noble. I bought this book online for about $23 including shipping and handling. The book looks pretty neat and I intend to finish this in about 2 weeks time. I was fascinated by it because it has two chapters on Fourier. One is on Fourier series and other on Fourier Integral besides a chapter on irrationality of pi^2 plus a chapter on electronics and iota. So wait for 2 weeks and I will post the review and what I learned from that book. Day before yesterday we installed our white board in our living room and now Udita and I can discuss mathematics all the time. There is one great news I want to share ! Can you guess it ? Mohan ji finally got accepted into PhD program here in school of education. I am so happy for him, he deserved it. I also got my 2nd ticket (a warning) about not having the parking sticker for southern hill residents. I didn't think about that one needs to have a parking sticker where there is a red decal parking. So I will be leaving for it once I am done writing this blog. I am looking forward to a productive weekend.

That's for now
Have fun

Classes

Dear Sumant,

Its 21:40 and I am in office updating my blog and listening to Yanni's song "Storms in Africa". I finally sent a mail to Dr. Henri Schurz voicing my interest. Dr. Schruz is a wonderful individual and is doing a lot of research. I would have liked to work with him but my area of interest is now Differential Geometry and Combinatorics and I love it. Especially Dr. Parker's way of teaching. He is an awesome teacher and I feel so fortunate to take class with him. The way he taught Abstract Algebra blew me away. I learned so much in that class. Also I must thank Robert for being there. We discussed a lot in that class and did help. I have two homework due tomorrow including a Fourier, one on Abstract Algebra and one on Geometry. I am looking forward to weekend so I can catch up with my stuffs. I am also praying for Mohan ji, so that he can secure admission in PhD.

Week gone by

Dear Sumant,

I went roller skating last Friday and was pleasantly surprised that I could skate without much effort. The last I skate must have been at least 4 yrs back and that too I think was on ice using blades. I liked it so much that I am thinking of doing it again sometime. My classes are interesting so far. Dr. Parker today started with the geometry after covering the basics. I really want Mohan to gain admission to PhD program here. He is an awesome guy and having him my study buddy for 501 will be the greatest thing I could ask for at this time. Dr. Salah is wonderful and knows where to stress and show the patterns in the proofs.

Having Udita as my house mate is great. We have been trying different stuffs. Last night we cooked Eggplant and saw "House of flying dagger". I also catched up with some movies which I least expected to see here, These include "Bride and Prejudice", "Monsoon Wedding" and "King fu Hustle".

Last week I ordered few books these included "Dr. Euler's fabulous formula" and two of Michel Gelb's book, including the workbook. I am excited about the workbook in particular and it has some wonderful exercises that I am very keen on completing.

First day of school

Dear Sumant,

Right now I am in Suresh's office as mine office is closed and I yet don't have the key. I met Robert over at the studnt center and we discussed had a small talk. I am waiting for a meeting that is in another 45 minutes in the computer lab discussing about lab issues for example when to open, close etc. I am reading "How to think like Leonardo" and from today I have started carrying the note book and I plan to experiment with it and I am doodling now.

New year 2007 start

Dear Sumant,

There are 3 more days before the school starts again. I am excited as many new things have happened since I last posted. I moved to a new apartment in southern Illinois with Udita and we both are having a good time. I tried one last time to explain myself to Jennifer and now I feel that relation is done and this time I feel that I big burden has been taken out of my chest. I never had the opportunity to fully tell her that how much I loved her and was this feeling at the back of my head that may be she doesn't know that but now it was her decision and I think I tried my best to put it back on track.

I have been reading a lot of books and this has been a lot of fun. I am about to finish Frankenstein and I also plan to read the "War of the world". My Chicago trip was awesome and I had a wonderful time. It was my golden birthday and Rajan Bhaiya, Bhabi, Vishesh, Shristi and Molly made it a memorable one. This coming semester I am taking Fourier Analysis, Measure Theory and Abstract Algebra plus I plan to audit Dr. Parker's geometry which takes a measure theory approach. So in all some super exciting class with super exciting professors. Dr. Kammler for Fourier Series, Dr Ban for Abstract, Dr Parker for Geometry and Dr. Salah for Measure Theory.

That's for now and wait for the pictures of my Chicago trip
