Double scoop at common grounds

I took this last week when I taught there. Yesterday I met Matt and I am glad he was happy with his students progress and enthusiasm for my weekend class. I am doing an unstructured course because I have students of varied background and my goal is to get them excited about Maths. There are some basic skills other than symbol chasing that one should know which include familiarity with classic problems, high school problems and discrete math ideas.
I agree with Art Benjamin's emphasis that we should include more discrete math and statistics in our school curriculum.
